2026 Sierra Electric Truck: Upgrades, Features, Performance and Design!

New Inventory Contact Us

Myers Chevrolet Buick GMC is excited to bring you the all-new 2026 GMC Sierra EV, Canada’s next step into full-capability electric pickups. The 2026 model adds more choice, more tech, and more rugged capability than before. New Elevation and AT4 trims join the lineup to give you premium and off-road options alongside the existing Denali. Battery choices are wider: Standard, Extended, and Max Range allow customers to pick the range and charging ability that suits their lifestyle in Ontario. The trims Elevation and AT4 now cover more ground: Elevation will be offered with Standard or Extended Range, AT4 with Extended or Max Range, while Denali continues to offer all three battery packs. These changes make the Sierra EV more versatile and better suited for Canadian conditions, where range and cold-weather performance matter.

What’s Changed from 2025

Compared to the 2025 GMC Sierra EV, the 2026 version adds more trims (Elevation, AT4) to broaden appeal and price points. Battery pack options are more accessible, with better range offerings even on lower trims, and charging improvements. Exterior and interior design refinements make the AT4 more rugged and the Denali more luxurious. Tech and safety features see enhancements: more driver assist features, better cold-weather readiness, and improved cabin comfort (heated seats, heated steering wheel, etc.). The addition of Energy Transfer Pro (off-board power capability up to 10.2 kW on certain trims) is new too.

Design, Technology & Interior Upgrades

Design, Technology & Interior Upgrades

Inside, the 2026 Sierra EV steps up with a 16.8-inch premium GMC infotainment system with Google built-in compatibility and available Super Cruise hands-free driver-assistance technology on certain trims. The systems now include updated driver displays (on higher trims like AT4 and Denali) and up to 14 camera views for maneuvering smaller spaces. Exterior design tweaks include new trim-specific styling for AT4 (rugged accents, red recovery hooks, lifted ground clearance) and Denali (luxury finishes, body colour grille with perimeter lighting, gloss wheels). The MultiPro Midgate still makes its return, and in certain models, you can extend the bed to 10 feet 10 inches using the Midgate, load stop, folded rear seats, and removing the rear glass—great for hauling long items. There’s a front eTrunk for lockable, weather-protected storage too. Interior styling improves with After Dark CoreTec™ on base trims, heated front seats, and heated steering wheel, plus more luxury material options in Denali. For Ontario drivers, heated seats and steering wheel are a welcome standard in cold winters.

Performance, Range & Engine

Performance, Range & Engine

The Sierra EV uses a dual-motor e4WD (electrical all-wheel drive) system delivering strong towing, instant torque, and solid performance. Horsepower ranges from about 605 horsepower in the base configurations up toward 760 horsepower in Max Range or premium trims. Torque lands in the 765-785 lb-ft range. Range estimates for the 2026 GMC Sierra EV in Canada go up to approximately 769 km on a full charge in certain Max Range configurations, with more typical/usable ranges around 455-660 km depending on battery and trim. Charging speeds improve thanks to 800V public DC fast charging—able to gain about 160 km in roughly 10 minutes on the Max-Range versions. Ontario owners will appreciate that kind of charging capability during long trips or highway drives.

Safety & Driver-Assistance

The 2026 Sierra EV packs a full suite of driver-assistance features as standard or available depending on trim. Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking, Side Bicyclist Alert, multiple camera views, and OnStar One Plan with a 3-year subscription on Super Cruise capable trims enhance safety. Higher trims add a Head-Up Display, premium lighting, illuminated GMC badging, power glass roofs, and more rigorous weather sealing. For Ontario drivers dealing with winter road conditions, things like traction control, all-wheel drive, heated elements, and driver assists that recognize low traction surfaces or icy roads are especially valuable. GMC has also improved cold-weather performance with battery thermal management.

Why the 2026 Sierra EV in Ontario Is a Strong Choice

For drivers in Ontario, the 2026 GMC Sierra EV hits many of the right notes. It delivers excellent electric range for highway travel, fast charging where public infrastructure is present, rugged trims (like AT4) that handle snow, ice, and rural roads with confidence, and luxury trims (Denali) that make cold winters more tolerable inside the cabin. Ontario EV incentives, depending on your region, may also help reduce cost, and low operating cost means fewer visits to gas stations.
